Arrest following doorstep attack

A man has been arrested after a 33-year-old woman was seriously injured in an attack on her doorstep.

The victim was hit several times after she answered her door on Belfield Road in Etwall, Derbyshire two weeks ago.

She suffered fractures to her neck, eye socket, wrist and fingers.

Police have now arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the inquiry. He has been interviewed by detectives and released on bail.
